     Matthew K. Cox, 61, of Peoria, passed away at 12:37 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
     Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Forrest Hill United Methodist Church in Peoria, with the Reverend Dr. Curt Keller officiating.
     Matthew was born on August 9, 1951 in Normal, a son of the Reverend Henry L. and Catherine E. (Green) Cox. They preceded him in death, along with his stepmother, Louis “Lotie” Cox, and one sister, Laurie Cox.
     He married Linda J. Raistrick on November 28, 2002 in Emden. She survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Janna (Eddy) Puig of Newport Richey, FL; step daughter, Betty (Stan) Apke of Morton; brothers, Mark (Angie) of St. Pete Beach, FL, David (Jacqueline) of Newberg, OR and Kevin (Mary) of Davenport, IA; sisters, Donna (Mike) Ewing of Macomb and Lynn Gregory of Moline; step brothers, Dale (Stacey) Markley of Macomb and Jerry (Vicki) Markley of Table Grove; step sister, Patricia (Stephen) Sparks of Emden; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     Matthew worked at Caterpillar as a Senior Associate Engineer. He was an avid train collector.
     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Matthew’s memory to PAWS or Hidden Manna Food Pantry.
     Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.

For everyone in the GET Group at Caterpillar, I want to express our sadness at Matt's passing. Matt was a recognized contributor to our efforts.  He provided a great example to those around him of both courage and commitment.  Matt and his family are in our prayers.
